Biographical Notes of Reid Wood
Reid Wood (b. 1948) is a visual artist who has worked in a variety of media, including drawing, printmaking, sculpture, collage, artists books, mail art, digital imaging, and performance art. He holds degrees in art from Oberlin College, with additional study at Kent State University, Akron University, and the Visual Studies Workshop. He has exhibited his work regionally, nationally and internationally since 1975. Examples of his work can be found in a number of public and private collections and archives, including MoMA (Franklin Furnace Artists Books Archive), the Sackner Archive, the Avant Writing Collection (Ohio State University), the National Institute of Design (Ahmedabad, India), Lalit Kala Akademi (New Delhi, India), the National Postal Museum of Canada, the Artpool Archive (Budapest), the King St. Stephen Museum (Hungary), and the Otis Art Institute (Los Angeles). Several works are permanently present in the Collection of the Bongiani Art Museum of Salerno (Italy). In 2010 he was awarded a residency in Venice by the Emily Harvey Foundation.
